Welcome to my world…

I am Miri Argash, I was born in 1968 in Israel where I have lived my whole life. I am a mother to my lovely daughter and son, Shahar and Itay.

I have always been attracted to the world of art in general and painting in particular. I combined this love with my other love, teaching. I studied at the Art Teachers College, and for many years taught the art profession in schools. The satisfaction of making art accessible to the younger generation was immense.

At the same time, I applied and was accepted to the Beaux-Arts de Paris Academy of Art in Paris, France, but unfortunately, personal circumstances prevented me from starting my studies there.

Later I studied theater and psychotherapy and body-mind therapy, and among other things. Currently, I combine my practice as a storyteller and work mainly with an audience of debilitated and mentally challenged.

Painting for me is a way to create a dialogue between the eyes and the mind. I paint in my head all the time.

I get inspired by my observation of nature, landscapes, people and animals, colors and sounds, weave a story in my mind and draw it on canvas.

I like to combine different work techniques, play with colors, materials, textures, and engravings and translate my state of mind and the stories that are woven in my head with my hands into a painting.

The practice of my art and the ability to excite through it to those who observe it, fill my life and spice it up with great joy.

The story of the hummingbird in my life

10 years ago I lost Oz, my dear husband, my best friend, and the father of our two children in a motorcycle accident.

Before his death, Oz tattooed the hummingbird on his body, a symbol for drinking the sweetness and joy of life. When my children grew up they also tattooed the hummingbird symbol as part of their father's legacy, a constant reminder to teach us to live here and now, to fill our lives with happiness as much as possible, to face the challenges easily and lightly and to express love and appreciation every day.

Enjoy the journey with me…
